Lakeshore Festival & Events invites you to participate in the 27th Annual Indiana Wizard of OZ Festival held on September 13 - 14, 2008. We are located approximately fifty miles east of Chicago's Loop and fifty miles west of South Bend off Of I-94. The Festival’s theme revolves around all things Oz. We invite the original Munchkins from MGM’s “The Wizard of Oz” as our celebrity guests and have attendees (approx. 25,000) from all over the United States & abroad.

DATE: September 13 & 14, 2008, (no rain date).

TIME: Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
PLACE: Porter County Expo Center. 215 E. Division Road, Valparaiso, IN 46383

BOOTH SIZE Indoor Booth: Craft: 10' x 10' - $175.00 10' x 20' - $350.00  & FEE Commercial: 10’ x 10’ - $225.00 10’ x 20’ - $450.00 Outdoor Booth: Craft: 10' x 10' - $150.00 10' x 20' - $300.00
Commercial: 10’ x 10’ - $200.00 10’ x 20’ - $400.00

Electric available at a cost of $30.00 PER HOOK UP
LATE FEE FOR APPLICATION POSTMARKED AFTER AUGUST 1, 2008 - $20.00
Payment can be made by check, money order, or Visa/MasterCard. Cash is not accepted.

SET UP: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. Saturday. All vehicles must be removed from the craft area by 7:00 a.m.

ADVERTISING: The Festival will be advertised in newspapers, posters, flyers, radio, and TV.

BOOTH
ASSIGNMENT: Booths are assigned on a first come first served basis. Be sure to get your application and ALL necessary paperwork and booth fees in EARLY. Please see application for requests for special spaces.

NSF CHECKS: All non-sufficient fund checks will be assessed a $25.00 fee.
REFUNDS: No refunds will be made under any circumstances once you are accepted.

CONFIRMATION: Confirmation, booth assignment and other pertinent information will be sent provided you send a self addressed stamped envelope. If you do not send a self addressed envelope, your cancelled check or debit to your charge card will be your confirmation.

TAX RATE: The Indiana Tax Rate is 6% and is the responsibility of the exhibitor.

TYPE: Items pertaining to Wizard of Oz theme are encouraged. All items will be juried & must be handcrafted, with the exception of informational, commercial or Oz (only) commercial booths. Children's games, if approved, must be OZ related.

SECURITY: Security will be provided Friday and Saturday nights.

AWARDS: Best of show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd based on display, quality & workmanship & Best Oz Booth.           
 
Rules & Requirements

The Booth Chairperson, Festival General Chairperson, and/or the Lakeshore Festival & Events. President reserve the right to make all final decisions.

Due to a new state regulation, all tents MUST be flame retardant.

No refunds will be given after you have been accepted as an exhibitor.
Jury requirements:All vendors must send color photos of works in progress or merchandise and 1 color photo of your display. All craft booth products must be at least 50% handcrafted. All Commercial booths will be juried.

Each vendor is responsible for his or her display. We must have one responsible party for the registered booth spaces.

The committee has the right to limit entries per medium and per item. Acceptance into this festival is based upon the quality of workmanship, creativity and the total look of your display.

Only those 18 years of age or older can submit the application for a booth space.

Vendors are allowed to have more than one location in the festival area.

You are expected to exhibit both days and all hours of the Festival. Please be on time each day. NO early packing up or early departing. Exhibitors who fail to exhibit both days of the Festival will be refused entrance to future festivals.

Your display booth area must be kept neat and clean. All packing boxes, supplies, and personal food containers must be hidden from the public view. You must remain in your own booth! Violators will be asked to leave. Exhibitor’s area must be left neat and clean at Festival closing.

All items must juried & approved. The Committee reserves the right to exclude any materials that do not meet with our standards and requirements. If any of these objectionable items are on display, it will result in your immediate removal from this Festival without a refund. Any changes in your wares must be pre-approved by the Booth Chairperson.

No pets allowed.

Generators must be approved by the booth chairperson & may be permitted providing you supply us with a certified letter from the manufacturer or qualified independent testing agency verifying the decibel level at 57 decibels or below.

Because of the family nature of the Wizard of OZ Festival, absolutely no alcohol beverages or illegal substances are permitted in vendor booths or on the festival grounds. Violators will be asked to leave immediately and will not be allowed back to future festivals.
